In case anybody know of something, do let us know. I do not know if a better DSP plugin exists for winamp other than DFX, but I would think it does. My sympathies to those still using iTunes. Apparently itunes still uses the old Quicktime 16bit processing engine while the rest of the world moved onto higher planes. I find Winamp + DFX far far better than Media Player and iTunes (undoubatedly the worst ever). It really adds a whole new dimention to music. However, i would strongly recommend trying out DFX plugin for winamp. A tidal wave pattern, this setting adds a little to the highs and also exemplifies the mids while reducing the already bloated Base and lows in this type of music. I listen to metal and Rock, the best settings on winamp EQ I found was the Headphone/Laptop setting. It was a very sad day for me when Izotope abandoned it in favor of a very expensive commercial version. I used it for several years, until it became incompatible due to a Winamp upgrade. If pure nutrality is the intention here, then I would hope you also buy such headphones. I remember the free Izotope Ozone plug-in.

It may be good in order to convince yourself that what you hear is true to what the engineer wanted, but its far from any enjoyable listening. I have to totally disagree the flat configuration of the EQ.
